**Cake:**

- 1 cup buttermilk

- 1/2 cup butter

- 1/2 cup shortening

- 2 cups white sugar

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 8 ounces cream cheese

- 4 cups icing sugar

- 2 tablespoons light cream

- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

- 1 cup sweetened coconut


**Instructions:**


**1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pans:**

- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

- Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.


**2. Prepare the Cake Batter:**

- In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk and set aside.
