Fried Green Tomatoes

#### Ingredients:
- 4 large green tomatoes
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
#### Instructions:
1. Slice the green tomatoes into 1/2 inch thick slices, discarding the ends.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
3. Place the flour on a plate, and on another plate, mix the cornmeal, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.
4. Dip each tomato slice into the flour to coat, then dip into the egg and milk mixture, and finally dredge in the breadcrumb mixture until completely coated.
5. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat, ensuring there is about 1/2 inch of oil in the pan.
6. Carefully place the coated tomato slices into the hot oil, working in batches of 4 or 5 slices at a time, depending on the size of your skillet. Ensure the tomatoes do not touch each other.
7. Fry the tomatoes until they are browned on one side, then flip them over and fry until browned on the other side.
8. Once browned, remove the fried green tomatoes from the skillet and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
9. Serve hot and enjoy these crispy and savory fried green tomatoes!
