These tender, fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs are cooked low and slow in a savory barbecue sauce, making them an easy and delicious meal. Perfect for any occasion, they can be finished off in the oven for that perfect crispy edge.
#### Ingredients:
- 2 cups (500ml) barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional for a hint of spice)
- 2 kg (4 pounds) baby back pork ribs
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
#### Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Slow Cooker:**
- Spray the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
2. **Prepare the Ribs:**
- Remove the inner skin (membrane) from the ribs by sliding a knife under the membrane and pulling it off. Discard the membrane.
- Place the ribs in the slow cooker.
3. **Make the Sauce:**
- In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well to combine.
4. **Cook the Ribs:**
- Pour half of the barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs, making sure they are well coated.
- Season the ribs with a good amount of salt and pepper.
- Cover with the lid and cook on a low setting for 7-9 hours, or on a high setting for 3-5 hours. *See notes for timing.
5. **Prepare for Broiling:**
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (220°C).
- Carefully transfer the ribs to an oven tray (or baking sheet) lined with parchment paper. The ribs will be very tender and may fall apart, so handle them gently.
- Pour half of the juices from the slow cooker bowl into the remaining barbecue sauce.
6. **Broil the Ribs:**
- Baste the ribs with half of the reserved barbecue sauce.
- Place the tray in the preheated oven and broil (grill) for about 10 minutes, or until the edges begin to char and crisp.
7. **Serve:**
- Serve the ribs with the remaining barbecue sauce on the side.
8. **Enjoy!!!**
#### Notes:
- **Cooking Times:** Slow cookers
can vary, so adjust the cooking time as needed. The ribs are done when they are tender and easily pull away from the bone.
- **Membrane Removal:** Removing the membrane helps the seasoning and sauce penetrate the ribs better and results in a more tender bite.
- **Broiling:** Keep a close eye on the ribs while broiling to avoid burning. The goal is to achieve a nice char without overcooking.
These slow cooker BBQ baby back ribs are sure to be a hit with their rich flavor and tender texture. Enjoy your meal!
