--------ADVERTISEMENT--------
#### Ingredients:
- 1 (24-ounce) rib-eye steak, 2 inches thick, at room temperature
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 3 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
#### Directions:
1. **Prepare the Steak:**
- Pat the sides of the steak dry with paper towels.
- Generously season both sides of the steak with 1 1/4 teaspoons of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.
2. **Preheat the Skillet:**
- Warm a medium cast-iron frying pan over medium-high heat until very hot, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the canola oil to the skillet.
3. **Sear the Steak:**
- Place the seasoned steak in the center of the skillet.
- Cook the steak, turning every 2-3 minutes, until a dark crust forms on both sides, about 12-14 minutes in total.
4. **Add Garlic Herb Butter:**
- Reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Push the steak to one side of the pan.
- Add the butter, crushed garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the opposite side of the skillet.
- Tilt the pan toward the butter, allowing it to melt and become frothy, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
5. **Baste the Steak:**
- Using caution, pour the melted butter over the steak.
- Continue to cook the steak for an additional 1-2 minutes, turning it over once, until the internal temperature reaches 120°F for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.
6. **Rest the Steak:**
- Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Allow the steak to rest for about 5 minutes before cutting into it to allow the juices to redistribute.
7. **Serve:**
- Once rested, slice the steak against the grain into thick slices.
- Serve the pan-seared rib-eye steak with garlic herb butter immediately.
Enjoy this delicious and flavorful steak as a hearty main course for any special occasion or weeknight dinner!
