Cajun Shrimp Scampi

A quick and easy meal, this Cajun Shrimp Scampi is bursting with flavor. Perfect for serving with crusty Italian bread, pasta, or rice.


**Ingredients:**


- 12 raw shrimp (or as many as you prefer)

- 1 serving of pasta (preferably linguine)

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons butter

- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- Shredded Parmesan cheese

- 1/8 teaspoon basil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Flour (to thicken)

- Cajun seasoning

- 1/4 cup parsley

- White wine (a splash)

- Olive oil (a drizzle)


**Preparation:**


1. **Cook Pasta:** Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.


2. **Heat Pan:** Heat a saucepan on medium-high heat. Add the butter, a drizzle of olive oil, and a splash of white wine. Bring to a boil.


3. **Add Garlic:** Add the minced garlic and cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.


4. **Cook Shrimp:** Add the shrimp to the pan. Generously season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Cook until the shrimp are pink on one side, then flip them and cook for another minute. Remove the shrimp from the pan, leaving the liquid behind.


5. **Make Sauce:** Add the heavy cream, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper to the pan. Bring to a boil and whisk in sprinkles of flour until the sauce thickens.


6. **Combine and Serve:** Lower the heat to medium-low and return the shrimp to the pan. Toss to coat the shrimp in the sauce. Serve the shrimp and sauce over the cooked pasta. Top with shredded Parmesan cheese.


7. **Enjoy:** Serve immediately with crusty Italian bread, pasta, or rice.
